Daily Spark: Patience Is a Power Move
You know what's interesting about patience? Most people think it's passive—like you're just sitting there, waiting, doing nothing. But that's not what patience actually is. Real patience is strategic restraint. It's choosing not to act impulsively when everything in you wants to move right now.
We live in a world that glorifies speed. Fast results, quick wins, instant gratification. And because of that, we rush. We rush because we're terrified of falling behind, of missing out, of letting opportunities slip through our fingers while someone else grabs them first.
But here's the irony that took me years to understand: rushing is usually how we actually fall behind.
Think about it. When you rush, you make decisions without enough information. You skip steps that matter. You commit to things you haven't fully thought through. And then what happens? You end up backtracking, fixing mistakes, or realizing you were running in the wrong direction the entire time.
Patience, on the other hand, gives you something invaluable: clarity. When you slow down enough to think clearly, you start to see things you missed before. You notice the patterns. You understand the context. You ask better questions. And that clarity? It leads to wisdom—the kind that helps you act in ways that actually move you forward.
Wisdom saves you time you didn't even know you were wasting.
Here's the truth I've come to embrace: Patience isn't slow. Impatience is just sloppy.
So what does this look like in practice? It means holding your pace when everyone around you is sprinting. It means trusting your timing even when it doesn't match someone else's timeline. It means understanding that strong outcomes don't come from frantic energy—they come from steady hands and intentional action.
Patience is a power move because it requires strength. It takes real discipline to resist the pressure to rush, to stay grounded when the world is spinning fast, to believe that your process matters more than someone else's speed.
So the next time you feel that urge to rush, to push, to force something before it's ready—pause. Ask yourself: Am I moving because it's time, or because I'm afraid? Am I acting with clarity, or reacting from anxiety?
The answer to those questions will tell you everything you need to know.
